For that small percentage of buyers that aren’t satisfied with the 2010 Ford Mustang-based Shelby GT500 that packs a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 with 540 ponies under the hood, Caroll Shelby and his team have prepped an even more hardcore package called Super Snake. Due to go on sale in August, Shelby offers the Super Snake package on the GT500 in two guises, with outputs of 630 and 725 horsepower, the latter offered only on the coupe model.

Italian supercar maker Ferrari will be showcasing three new models for the first time in the UK at next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed: the California coupe-convertible, the limited edition Scuderia Spider 16M and the beefed-up 599 GTB Fiorano with the HGTE package. The U.S.-market-only 370Z NISMO has arrived at Nissan showrooms across the country priced at $39,130 (including a $720 delivery and handling fee). That’s compared to the base 332HP Nissan 370Z’s MSRP of $29,930 (not including fees). The extra 10 grand will get you a tweaked version of the 3.7-liter V6 that delivers 18 additional horsepower for a total of 350HP and is linked to a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox with SynchroRev Match, sport-tuned suspension, a functional aerodynamic bodykit, beefier sport brakes and 19-inch RAYS alloys shod in Yokohama high-performance tires.

These are the latest speculative renderings of Peugeot’s 407 mid-size sedan replacement that is due to arrive in European showrooms sometime during the fourth quarter of 2010. The crew over at French car magazine L’Auto Journal told us that the computer generated images of the Peugeot 408 are based on inside information. As is always the case with these kind of stories, only time will tell how close the renderings are to reality.
