Audi R8 Receives Special Attention from ABT

ABT Sportsline is a tuning and motor racing company but today we will talk about the tuning part. For many years ABT reworked Audi’s cars and others related with Audi.

If you are a fan of the R8, if you imagined what would be like to modify it yourself, you don’t have to think for long, because the German tuner made an incredible job redesigning the R8. New skirts and rear spoiler, both made of carbon-fiber, front and rear clips replaced, new angle of the front openings, new rear bumper, smaller vents and the diagonal exhaust is cream of crop for the ABT R8.

All these new features deserve a special tint so the tuned Audi R8 received a custom-made black color along with red shades. I have nothing more to say because the gallery below should speak for itself.

Faralli & Mazzanti Antas V8 GT, One Of The Speed Racer Stars

Not many people heard of the unique sportscar, but this won’t be for long because the car is ready to make its debut in the Speed Racer movie. This unique sportscar has been built by two classic car lovers: Luca Mazzanti and Walter Faralli. The Antas V8 GT has been designed by hand, and it has retro touches from old cars like Bugatti, Maserati or Morgan. The car has a 4.7-liter Maserati V8 engine which produces a power of 310hp. This superb car has firstly been unveiled in 2007 at the Top Marques show in Monaco. You will be able to see the Faralli & Mazzanti Antas V8 GT on May 9th, when the movie Speed Racer will hit the big screen.

Extend Jaguar Partnership Beyond C-X75 Supercar

The Williams Formula 1 team, which only recently announced its deal with Renault as an engine partner from 2012 sparking rumors about special editions of the French company’s cars like the acclaimed Clio Williams of the past, now says it also wants to expand its cooperation with Jaguar beyond the C-X75 hybrid supercar.

“We would like to become the competition and sporting side of Jaguar” Williams chairman Adam Parr told British magazine Autocar. Parr said that the cooperation in the development of kinetic energy recovery systems (KERS) to be used on the C-X75 is very relevant to Formula 1.

And this technology will be developed even more in the near future since the 2014 rules stipulate that all F1 cars must be powered solely by electric power in the pit lane (Bernie Ecclestone’s objections not withstanding). Via Carscoop

75 XKR: Jaguar now turns 75

To mark the 75th birthday of Jaguar, the British brand has created a special model, the XKR 75. The site chosen for submission is the Goodwood Festival, where as this “tribute car” and as of July 3, we can see the latest releases to be mixed with classic cars in an interesting motor racing event.

As happens with other commemorative special editions, the number that came with the name of the edition indicates the number of units manufactured in that car, that is, be only 75 units. Very exclusive, yes but do not expect big news because it is an improvement of the original XKR.

For example, the engine will be a 5-liter supercharged V8 of 530 hp and the figures are achieved with this engine is not outstanding for only two-tenths gain in acceleration and a top speed of 280 km / h that is electronically limited . Improving the suspension and aerodynamic elements are added as a front spoiler, side skirts, larger rear spoiler and rear diffuser.

BMW previews the 8-Series Concept Gran Coupe

BMW has unveiled the 8-Series Concept Gran Coupe at the Beijing Motor Show, which is aimed at the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLS.

The car measures 1400mm high, and slots in-between the 5 and 7-Series sedans in BMW’s range, although it is rumoured that BMW will revive the 8-Series nameplate for the car. The Gran Coupe is targeted against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, as well as the Porsche Panamera, and the upcoming Audi A7.

The front of the BMW Concept Gran Coupe features a “vaulted bonnet” that melds with the wide double-kidney grille, and rounded rhombus-shaped headlights give the car a sporty look. The split bumper with large air intakes with black mesh grille rounds off the front design.

At the rear, the Gran Coupe has a short and squared bumper, and a wide LED third brake light mounted above the glass that goes with the LED rear light clusters. Quad tailpipes in the rear bumper mark the end of the almost 5-metre long car.

The Concept Gran Coupe is BMW’s follow-up to the Concept CS that was unveiled in 2007, and intends the car to be showcase the look of future four-door coupe models. BMW is expected to show the Concept Gran Coupe at this year’s Paris Motor Show in October.

I always love Nissan motors cars.During this Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 ,Nissan was packed with tuning proposals for Nissan’s GT-R R35.Also bare in mind this beast was installed with a 20-inch multispoke alloy wheel wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires size 255/40 ZR20 up front and 285/35 ZR20 at the back.Not much of a surprise though, as usual others include a redesigned front bumper with a lip spoiler, side skirts, rear wheel arch add-ons, a rear wing and a beefier rear diffuser along with an underspoiler and also not to forget a new aero kit trimmed in carbon fiber.

New BMW 740i at Detroit motor show

For the first time in many years, BMW will offer American consumers the choice of a six-cylinder engine for its flagship 7-Series sedan. The U.S.-Spec 740i and its long-wheelbase sibling, the 740iL, with make their North American premiere at the 2010 Detroit motor show next January, with sales set to follow in Spring of the same year.

Both models are powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six (and not the 2011 535i’s new twin-scroll turbocharged six) producing 315 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque from 1,600-4,500 rpm in U.S.-spec form.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through BMW’s 6-speed automatic transmission.

Buyers will have a choice of several options and packages to upgrade the 2011 740i and 740iL including the M Sport, Driver Assistance, Luxury Seating, Rear Entertainment, and even the BMW Individual Composition Package.

BMW V10:Veritas RS III

Veritas says that even before the actual start of production, five of the 30 luxury cars have already been sold while another eight have been reserved. But before you start day-dreaming, learn that prices start at a whopping €345,00 or about $517,000 at today’s exchange rates.

The German company said that a staff of 15 people install the chassis, bodywork and interior at three workstations, with production of a completed model taking about eight weeks.

The 4.68 meter long and 2.02 meter wide supercar is powered by a 5.0-liter V10 from the BMW M5/M6 that makes 507HP and is coupled to either a 7-speed SMG transmission or a manual 6-speed gearbox that send all those ponies to the rear-wheels.

Weighing in at just 1080kg or 2,380 lbs, it is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in under 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 347 km/h or 216 mph.
