Such is the case with the new Peugeot 207 Economique. First seen during the Motor Show 2009 Geneva, Economique is based on the facelifted 207 hatchback recently shown to public. This machine powered by a 1.6-liter HDI diesel with 90HP to take advantage of specially developed for the management engine software and the addition of a heat exchanger for recirculation of exhaust gases to cool the exhaust gas re-injected.

Peugeot also had the Economique equipped with a manual gearbox modified five-speed with a higher ratio final drive of the rear window of 207 while the standard supermini mounted tires Michelin 185/65R15 low VLRR (resistance very low rolling resistance).
